Commission
a Painting
Why invest in legacy
Every family has faces worth remembering and stories worth keeping. A commissioned portrait is how those stories stay alive. My work is rooted in the belief that the people who shape our lives deserve more than a fading photograph — they deserve to be honored, celebrated, and preserved in a way that lasts. When you commission a portrait, you are not simply purchasing a painting. You are creating a legacy.
What to Expect
-
We begin the relaationship with questions and research. Your why. We discuss the vision, as well as the dimensions. We can do this in person, phone or Zoom.
-
This is the most important piece of the relationship. We can work from old photographs, new ones, or create a new experience. Your input is important in this part of the process, so we will discuss the story and work together to create the story that best fits your vision. We can be creative here, so let your story and imagination run with whatever you are dreaming of here.
-
Once the story has been imagined and we have all of the information regarding size, composition, we will sign an agreement to set in motion this experience. I will email you a contractual agreement that states our discussions, price structure, and timelines. We will both sign.
-
The story begins to unfold. If needed, Regular communication can take place in person, by email or on Zoom to ensure our minds and creative visions are aligned.
-
Yes, the finish line! I will present a final image, and once accepted, we will communicate delivery of your beautiful piece. A certificate of authenticity and handwritten thank you note accompany your cherished piece.
Pricing
Pricing for a commissioned portrait is as individual as the painting itself. Each piece I create is wholly original, shaped by its own story, scale, and vision, and no two are ever quite the same. The investment for your commission is determined by the size of the work, the level of detail, the surface we choose, and your timeline. Rather than offer a one-size-fits-all number, I prefer to have a conversation first. Once I understand what you're envisioning, I can provide a personalized quote that reflects exactly what your portrait calls for.
